playing live is the true measure of a band - anyone can do 50 million takes till they get it right, and use high end equipment to fix their pitch, and fix all their mistakes...

Kurt Cobain was so fucked in the studio sometimes, they gave up trying to do things in one take, and just spliced shitloads of takes together to get one song done... it was brutal

but live - nirvana was a fucking beast

shit, some new equipment can find the tempo of a song and match it automatically -

even change the tempo and correct the pitch so it sounds right
