What's the deal? I thought he was gaining ground in Miami. And even number one in highly specific demos.

milkman 09-21-2009 04:07 PM

Damn Jay, " why don't you go beg Beasley for Vegas"!!! harsh!!

This doesn't sound like a guy that wants to join Howard in whatever, in 15 months.

That's the problem. He won't have really broad appeal in that market.

milkman 09-21-2009 04:09 PM

That was last week Butler!!!

Exactly what I was thinking. :munch:At least hopefully the show will be aired live on Sirius XM in 15 months.

I don't see him getting resigned for a different deal than their on now. More $ in reg. radio though no?

Chob 09-21-2009 04:11 PM

He has history in Connecticut. Whatever happened with WCCC?

milkman 09-21-2009 04:12 PM

27 month option???

Hank 09-21-2009 04:14 PM

Maybe if he didn't go on the air all the time bitchin about how mgmt. fucks him over, and how they aren't doing their jobs right, he'd get more support from them.

That's the shtick, Howard did it for years even with his BFF Mel Karmazin. I doubt Jay takes it personally. Hell, they were friends before Bubba even worked for him.

Yeah I know, it just gets kinda old after awhile. I'm sure Jay doesn't take it personally at all. It just sounds the same as when they were in contract negotiations with sirius every time a big :waaa: fest

milkman 09-21-2009 04:28 PM

It's going well.

Heh. No one should be surprised this talk comes around contract time.

Although Bubba's in a weird spot, too "redneck" or "southern" in some people's eyes, but way too abrasive and too political on the wrong side (in the potential listener's view) for the deep south. I think that's the reasoning behind not putting him on in Birmingham. Tulsa may be a bit too conservative as well.

I wonder what Ted would have to say about that.

milkman 09-21-2009 04:32 PM

I dunno, It don't get much more southern or redneck than right here in Fla!! I think the younger gens are not so much into the conservative BS as it used to be. Not fiscally conservative, but social conservative!!

milkman 09-21-2009 04:34 PM

Speaking of wrestling...who in their right mind buys wrestling PPV's anyhow?

Florida defies any rational categorization. It really is a fascinating place filled with all sorts of bizarre characters and Bubba's show would not be the same located anywhere else.

I wouldn't go to the trouble of watching it for free.
